Top Hair Styles for 2016
New Year… New YOU! So cheesy to say I know but something a lot of us look forward to every year at this time. As Coco Chanel once said “ A women that changes her hair is about to change her life!”
So what are the trends in hair this year? And are you up for it? This is what I see already happening and will keep #trending for the coming months.
The “Lob”. Or in other terms, The Long Bob. This is such a great style in so many ways because it leaves the hair “just” long enough but cut short enough to feel change. It is cut anywhere between the collar bone and shoulders. With or without long layers. Its also a great length because most women still want to wear their hair up ( especially if going to the gym is on the new years resolution). Works on most face shapes and very trendy without being so edgy.
Bangs! The “committed” kind. Women are taking their “side swept” bangs and go for it! Cutting the bangs straight across the forehead creates drama and funk! So fun and easily can be grown out back to the softer sister, side swept bang once again.
Short Bob with lots of layers! This easy to style, can be caught in a wind storm and still look great cut is making a come back from the rock and roll days gone by! Super edgy and will give fine thin hair lots of texture, volume and play!
Braids! Any and all braids are STILL in. This trend isn’t going anywhere. So if you don’t know yet how to braid have your stylist teach you… ASAP!
French Twists! A classic up do that Audrey Hepburn made oh so famous is back! Wear it properly to a formal party or twist your hair up and run to the store real quick, this look to back… and I’m so happy !
Curly hair! Gone are the days of curly hair gals “killing” their hair by flat ironing, setting, wishing and praying. The bigger the better… and the higher the hair, the closer to God!
Messy Hair! Must be intentional! Please don’t go with the “ I woke up this fabulous” look! Learn the flat iron curl technique, add some salt spray, braid the hair while damp and then take it out after dry and shake… THEN you will be “I woke up this fabulous!”
Pixie cut! Easy, cut and oh soon fun! Lots of women are cutting off their locks and coloring their hair fun fun colors!
Ponytails! Not just your gym ponytails but a nice sculpted high pony! Think Barbie style ponytail!
Long hair with long layers… When is this staple style not IN? But this year is all about styling this hair with beach waves or flat iron curls. Set looks and flat irons are making their way out… at least for a minute.
So I hope this list somewhat helps all or at least one of you in the New Year! Let’s make it a good one because I believe it’s all about choice and hair is the easiest thing you can change! xo
