Western Washington’s bridal styling. Hair dressing for over 30 years this year… I LOVE what I do and it shows.
Founder:
Dawn Boynton started her career in her parents living room at the sweet young age of 5 years old! Braiding her mom’s hair and cutting her barbies, she ALWAYS knew what she wanted to do. She started Beauty School at 16 and graduated at 17.
She loves being apart of a wedding. Loves the fact that the bride sees HER right before she see the man she is about to marry… So she takes her job so very serious. She gives her all to listen and execute the perfect look for each bride. Each bride is different, each wedding is different and each day is different. This is what keeps Dawn passionate about her love for her “job”. Dawn feels that hair and makeup is THE most important part of a wedding. It is what enhances each brides natural beauty, something that radiates from the inside coming out. What a perfect day to unleash this… !
Testimonies :
“Dawn of Seattle Bride Hair went above and beyond for my wedding! First, she flawlessly styled hair for eight ladies starting before 6:00 AM on a Sunday morning. She was so efficient that we were ahead of schedule and had enough time to make sure that everyone’s hairstyle would stay put for the entire day–if any curls needed re-curling, it was done! All eight of us had very different hair textures, styles, and wedding day hair visions, yet everyone got exactly what they were looking for without a problem.
Now, for my hair. Dawn gave me the most beautiful hairstyle for my trial. On the actual wedding day, she somehow made the original look I had in mind even more unique and stunning- cascading curls pinned up to one side. It was gorgeous and timeless and just what I’d wanted. She even expertly pinned a delicate dried flower comb I’d purchased on one side, completing the look. After my years of fighting with my frizzy curls, she made them look exquisite. The hairstyle stayed put after hours of crazy dancing at my reception and still looked perfect for sunset photos 12 hours later.
Dawn is a true hair professional and I am so thankful that I found her for my wedding day!” Jacki
“Dawn did a wonderful job for my rustic July wedding. She was always immediate with communication, very prompt, and her prices were super reasonable. I was very grateful for how far she was willing to travel from the Seattle area. She did a great job keeping me looking like myself (my hair is curly and she encouraged me to keep it that way). I was really pleased with how it turned out. And, as I never wear makeup, she was very patient with me when it came to how cautious I was about it. I really recommend a pre-wedding run-through so you have a better idea of what you want, that helped me a lot. I highly recommend Dawn. I loved how the pictures turned out!” Lauren
“I hired Dawn to do my hair and makeup for my wedding and she was excellent! I loved the end look and the makeup looked great in pictures. Very glamorous but still like me. We also scheduled a trial run for both and she was able to fit me in for the day of my engagement photos after some confusion on my part. She is calm and works quickly and got everyone done by go time for pictures. Hiring Dawn was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding and I highly recommend her for any special event.”
“A modern day Goddess
Dawn is so amazing. She truly made me feel beautiful and perfect for my day. She’s professional and talented and knows her colors.
I am very fair skinned and usually when I meet with a make-up artist- they over do me- drag style. No offense but being fare toned it takes some subtle touches to ‘doll me up’.
Not only was I gorgous- Dawn kept me up to speed with schedules and time lines.
I highly reccomend doing business with Dawn, Seattle Bride Hair, you will not be disappointed ❤️”. Mandi
“Today I received a cut and style from Dawn. I have seen her bridal and bridal party work at a ceremony in Seattle which was rave worthy gorgeous in every way (hire her!) , but I hadn’t experienced her individually. She listened so well and seemed to know just what my hair and me needed to look our best. The adorable chic salon space she works in in Ruston is clean, bright and cheerful. I felt so relaxed and at ease with her expertise. I’m also very happy with the results and will return. Thank you, Dawn!” Susan
“I’ve tried so many places and Dawn is the best hair stylist I’ve ever had. I have curly, frizzy hair and she understands how to to cut it and make it tame better than anyone I’ve met to date. I also feel like my hair is not only healthier, but longer every time I leave her salon. Which, if you’re a curly haired gal, then you can relate to how scary a cut usually is. I rate 6 stars! Favorite stylist in the PNW!” Kali
“Dawn has been my go-to for hair style/cut/advice, and excellent makeup for special occasions. She genuinely care about her clients and her career is her passion, and it truly shows through her work. I have thin, difficult hair, and she’s always managed to make it look amazing (I wish I could do that with my own hair!!) She is, and always will be, my first pick when I need hair and makeup done for any occasion that I want to look my absolute best at.” Andi
I’m a little late in sharing my experience with Seattle Bride Hair and Dawn. My FB just reminded me it has been a year since my hair and make-up trial, which brought back my positive memories of my wedding prep experience.
Pricing: I didn’t do a ton of comparison for price. I obviously wanted my hair to look good, but it was really important for me to have someone come to me and to have good judgment/solid guidance in how to time everything out. I did not want to feel rushed or panicked in any way. Dawn laid out a very clear schedule that allowed for plenty of time for everyone to enjoy the day and feel pampered but still efficient.
Hair style: Dawn did a trial (she came to my house) for my hair and make up. I wanted a low and “messy” bun. I have naturally curly hair, but didn’t want to be too straight or look weirdly ringlet-y. My hair is long and thick, so therefore very heavy. I also didn’t want 10,000 bobby pins or a can of hairspray to be used. She was able to secure my hair with several clear rubber bands and just a handful of bobby pins. My hair stayed put for 14 hours, with just a few bobby pin adjustments after pictures (at the windy Ballard Locks) and after dinner- that seemed reasonable to me. She also did my sister, mom, and MIL’s hair too. My sister wanted the messy/braid look and the mom’s wanted a fancier version of their own hair. Everyone’s hair came out great- no one had to “re-do” after she left 😉
Time: Everything was done on time. Dawn asked me what time my pictures/ceremony was. My pictures started at 2pm; ceremony at 5:30. She recommended she come at 8am (she did makeup w/an assistant too). I thought that seemed super early, but getting glamor-ized takes time. She started with me, set my hair in rollers, started makeup, back to hair, etc. She bounced around but I was never waiting. She was super calm (I was not) and kept everything moving but wasn’t bossy or frenetic- she kept the calm that I needed. I finished around 12pm and then got dressed, had a snack, etc.
Recommend: I totally recommend Dawn! I don’t have any other experience getting married (), but she enhanced my day and made me now worry about my hair and make up at all. She was professional and nice, and my hair looked good”. Lauren
